Expertise:
As an English qualified solicitor born and grown up in China, Chengrong Li (aka Paul Li) has more than 20 years of working experience in both China and the UK, specialising in banking and finance work as well as handling outbound and inbound investments and general commercial related work from both non-contentious and contentious perspectives, in particular those involving Chinese elements.
Paul has worked in both the UK and China for some reputable international law firms (including a Magic Circle law firm in its head-quarter in London) and a world leading transportation bank. Paul has advised nearly all the Chinese financial institutions in the UK and numerous other leading international financial institutions and companies on their various types of cross-border transactions.
In addition, Paul has extensive experience in dealing with matters or cross-border disputes arising from or in connection with corporate/M&A, securitisation, financial and investment services, distressed assets and international trade, in particular those involving Chinese elements and ranging from various industries including aviation, shipping, real estate/construction, infrastructure and energy. Paul’s clients range from banks, leasing companies, corporations, organisations to governmental authorities in both China and the UK. Paul is a regular speaker at international conferences and seminars.
